About Client:
The Unbound System by Tecicity, LLC is a patented quick-connect system to turn your average desk chair into a flight simulator, gaming station, driving simulator, or workstation.
The client retained the firm on December 3, 2021.
We worked with the client from concept to company formation to initial production and Kickstarter.
Inventor Marek Strosin’s story:
“Since I was a child, I always wanted to fly. I remember playing the original flight sim on a monochrome monitor with line-drawn graphics. Eventually, I was lucky and managed to fly airplanes in the Navy. It was at that time, I realized how important the cockpit ergonomics were.
Fast forward to 2016, when I was trying to get my daughters into flying. They were 6 and 9 at that time, and it was almost impossible for them to play flight simulator with the joystick placed on the desk. I thought that there must be a better way to play those amazing games. Early in my career I was an airframes mechanic so working with metal was easy. The first prototype was made out of aluminum and wood. It worked like a charm. My daughters could finally play the flying games, and even my SIM flying improved (with this device you are primarily flying with your wrist, using small muscles, which allows you to make small, precise movements).
For the next few years, many of my friends encouraged me to “do something” with this innovative idea. Finally, in 2020, I started working on a commercial version of the device, utilizing CAD and 3D printing for rapid prototyping. This resulted in filing of a provisional patent in December of 2020. Through 2021, I was improving the design and adding additional functionality (which I described in the provisional patent). I was also looking for a patent lawyer and possible investors/partners. I was lucky and found both at the same time with the help of Barceló, Harrison & Walker, LLP, and Tecicity LLC was born.”
